Referral Options to see Psychologists/Psychotherapists 

Referrals: 

·        You may be eligible for Medicare Rebates

o       By being assessed by your General Practitioner and referred to the therapist of your choice.

o       If you are currently seeing a Psychiatrist, you may discuss the benefits of therapy and if appropriate you can be referred to the therapist of your choice.

·        You may refer yourself to the therapist of your choice

o       When you phone the Trauma and Stress Specialists Centre inform our Medical Secretary that you wish to see a specific therapist.

·        Some Psychologists at the Trauma and Stress Specialists Centre provide Psychological services for some Government and non-Government Agencies. If you think you may be eligible for Psychological Therapy through an Agency you are associated with you may ask if any therapists at TASSC are accredited with that agency.

·        If you feel your needs can not be met by any of the therapists at the Trauma and Stress Specialists Centre you may

o       Make a single appointment with a therapist to discuss your specific concerns and obtain advice about how to access the best possible assistance.

o       Ask our helpful Medical Secretary for some names of other therapists.  They will do their best to assist you.
